Jasminda Howell is a third generation Seaside, CA native. Mrs. Howell is also a Seaside High School, Monterey Peninsula College, Cal. State University East Bay, and Cal. State University Monterey Bay alumni member. After receiving a Master’s in Social Work Degree from CSUMB, she went on to obtain her accreditation as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Mrs. Howell is a former City of Seaside employee. For several years she served as a youth recreational leader and early child care provider prior to working as a behavioral therapist with the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District. Within Mrs. Howell’s professional career she has served as an avid advocate for mental health awareness. Mrs. Howell currently works within the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation as a LCSW. Within her current position, Mrs. Howell assists with reducing the criminal recidivism rate of our incarcerated community members through various evidence based mental health modalities. Mrs. Howell has had the privilege of serving members of marginalized communities throughout the Monterey and various surrounding counties. Through her usage of client centered care, she has assisted individuals in building healthy coping skills to address issues related to trauma exposure, substance use, mental health disorders, and self-harming behaviors.
